nurse avatarNow that you’ve got the app set up, remember that you can always reach me there if you have questions. But while we‘re on the phone, is there anything on your mind right now? Maybe something your doctor mentioned that wasn’t totally clear?
Yeah, actually. I remember hearing something about grapefruit and medication. Is that something I need to worry about?
That’s a great question. Grapefruit can interact with some medications, so it’s good to be aware of how it might affect yours.
For Warfarin, grapefruit isn’t usually a major concern, but it can sometimes affect how the medication is processed in your body. If you eat it regularly, your doctor may want to monitor your levels more closely.
For Lisinopril, grapefruit isn’t a direct issue, but in some cases, it can lower blood pressure more than expected. Since we just talked about keeping an eye on that, it may be best to limit it while you‘re adjusting to your medication.
Alright, that’s helpful. I don’t eat it all the time, but I wanted to check.
It’s always good to ask. If you ever notice dizziness or any unusual changes, we can check in to see if any adjustments are needed.
